This project was inspired by infectious disease and its relevance to human relationships. I sought to use anatomical imagery to speak to the inseparability between infection and intimacy. These considerations were made in light of historical and current circumstances regarding sexually transmitted infections, but hold true in the present climate of pandemic.

The drawing itself is based on prosections of hearts from Stanford's School of Medicine, but their depiction has been altered such that they are connected. Surrounding the drawing is an acrylic border that widens with the thickness of cardiovascular tissue.
